She is NOT taking to it, I put her a potty chair right beside the toilet, and I take her with me when I go, hoping that she will want to be a big girl like mommy...Not Working. I have tried taking her every hour and letting her sit on the potty. She just wont go. Is she not ready yet?

you have to add some fun into potty training make up a game, turn on the tap and let the water run as she sits on the potty, tell her to listen and see if she can make the same sound as the running water, YOU! sit on the toilet seat & tell her that you are going a race with her, to see who will finish first, trust me it will work but you have to do this as often as you can, and start keeping her in underpants ( panties ) so she will start feeling like a big girl, before you now it she will be doing it all on her own.

It could be that she is not ready yet, it could be that she thinks you are trying to make her do something and she is setting herself for the fight of your life!! My daughter trained herself. A friend gave me the potty chair and I put it in the bathroom, my daughter was only 8 months old and she would try to sit on that potty chair. She tried to get her diaper off and I just started letting her run around naked. By the time she was l5 months old she was fully trained and would not allow anyone to put a diaper on her - she would say "not baby" and get mad about the entire thing-lol. I have seen some kids be trained at 4 and some like my daughter. Just relax and pull back a little on it and let her move at her own pace. This just isn't a priority for her. I have a friend who bribed her twins with caramel corn - they called it potty candy. I don't advise that you start that. Good luck -k-

i just finished training my son. what i did was ask him every 20 minutes if he had to go potty. he usually said no but i would say "lets try" and i'd put him on the potty. if he went i would make a really big deal out of it.(clapping and high fives!!) i just kept this up for about 2 days until he started getting the hang of it. he finally started telling me when he had to go. on the second day i made a potty chart. for every 5 times he made potty i would give him a sticker. he looked forward to the rewards so he was really excited about it.
it takes alot of commitment so dont give up!! stick with it and it'll work!! lots of luck to you!!!

I'd say she's not old enough. When she's ready, you'll know. When she starts bringing you a diaper and telling you "change me" then you KNOW she's ready.

When my grandaughter was being difficult about potty training I took her to Walmart, let her pick out her own "big girl panties" and told her that she could wear her pull ups, or she could wear her panties, but if she chose the panties she HAD to use the big girl potty. I had her "housebroken" in less than a weekend.

I did the same thing...come to find out in my situation, She goes when she wants. She is now 3 and goes no problem, she started going on her own, I was dealing with a new born when she started potty training. She just started going on her own eventually. Good Luck . I hope I have a easy time with the next one.lol

When I was potty training my daughter I got stickers and everytime she went potty she would get to pick out a sticker. Sounds strange but it worked! She loved the stickers. You can just leave the potty in the bathroom where she can get use to it and try again in a few days and see how she does.

She will let you know when she is ready to use the potty. When she gets to the point that she is taking her diaper off and putting a new on. Then she is ready.

That is the result for toddler who is not ready without diaper. You may need to read this. It helps my daughter to use potty in the next two days after i read and train her according to it.

Yep, she is obviously not ready. But, this is normal. Make sure you tell her, if she needs to go pee tell mommy first or she will be in big trouble. Try those Huggies stretchy underwear/diapers that potty trains.

i think she is too young.your daughter controls her own body,if you push this on her its not going to help.remind her every so often just so she remembers she can go if she wants to.i have 4 girls and i just learned that they go when there ready with casual reminders.make it a positive thing.
