If you eat too fast you're in danger of overeating anyway, so pace yourself. If you're REALLY hungry when you get to a restaraunt for whatever reason, start on the icewater. It dulls hunger pangs. Also, the rolls are there for a reason. They'll fill you up fast.
If you find that you're really busy throughout the day and have a tendency to let yourself get too hungry, it might help to carry around some granola bars or something that you can quickly eat when you don't really have time to.

Hon,never let your self get that hungry,That's when you over eat.Have a protein drink,early in the day.While your waiting for your food,drink a glass of juice that will help even out your hunger. carry an apple with you.when your food comes ,chew on your food and think about what your eating.Enjoy the taste of every bite.stop in between a few bite and drink water.

You are not starving- you are just bored. Pace yourself..eat a salad and drink a glass of water to fill your stomach first, then eat. If you have no food yet and your stomach is growling eat something dry (you can carry snacks with you to subside your hunger) like: pretzels or crackers.

Eat bread rolls or buns because you can stuff your face but it just looks normal.
