please note, i am not trying to offend, start arguments, or any of that, i am just seeking opinions.

the bible is old, like, REALLY old, and the stuff in it is mostly oldschool stuff. it was written in a time when what was in it was appropriate for that culture. the basic morals apply today but there is some stuff i hear people qouting from the bible that quite frankly scares the crap out of me! when is the last time the bible had something relevant to this exact second in time, with all the technology and stuff going on written in it. remember, i did mention that a lot of the fundimentals (the love thy neighbore, thou shall not steal, you know, good morals that should be instilled in everybody) are still relevant....but would god consider television a sin if so many people waste time sitting in front of it, even if there are people preaching on it? things of that nature. when is the last time anything new was written in the bible?

Most of the books of the Bible have the identify of the writer on the best (like Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and so forth). Very few of the New Testrament authors are unknown. A bigger query is -- who accrued those quite a lot of works and determined which scriptures had been the holy phrase of God and that have been now not? The reply to that query is Catholics. While a few of the Scriptures had been declared to be Hoy by way of St Irenaeus within the second century, the record wasn't finalized till the 4th century Council of Rome -- a council convened by way of the Pope. The Catholic Bible has remained unchanged given that then -- even though Protestants determined to delete a few books within the 1500s. It is now believed that all the books of the Bible had been written within the first century. While culture holds that the works of John had been the final to be written (given that Revelations ends the guide), it's believed by way of Biblical Scholars that Peter two is the final one to were written.
