I asked this guy out for drinks about two weeks ago and he agreed. I saw him again and decided to set it up for this weekend. I asked him if he had my number.
He said he lost it (actually, he never had it to begin with - I never gave it to him). Then looked at me straight in the eye and said "I'm kind of involved right now and it's unofficial"....I don't know what that means exactly, so I just wished him well.
So I have two questions:
1) Why do you think he lied about losing my number when he didn't even have it?
2) Why did he lie, then change his mind to being in a relationship?

He was a lonely stoner who stumbled upon anther chick stoner. As stoners tend to forget past events or the recollection may become fuzzed or blurry, he probably thought you gave him you #. Anyways, he met this chick and now is unsure which path to take? The path of righteousness's or the path of endless nights. Hmm.....well, I hope I could help. I tried my best. Peace.

Well this guy is a play and thought you gave him your number. He put that unofficial thing in just in case you see him out with another girl but because it's unofficial he can still mess with you if your interested.

it means he's the wrong type of guy for you, he apparently get a lot of numbers and was trying to come up with an excuse as to why he didn't call you, he had some other girl lined up for the night and didn't want you to jeopardize it, or he wasn't impressed with you when you met for drinks, don't dwell, plenty of other squids in the sea

Answer to both questions is simple - he's a loser who thinks he's a chick magnet, and you are much better off without the likes of him!! Get on with your life and find someone who deserves to spend time with you!
