--somebody to hang out with and have fun without doing stupid things (sometimes haha)
--someone to keep you company in hard times (besides friends)
--and it's always nice to have another person (other than family) who cares about you in a different way than your friends do
hope that helped! : )

Well This is a complicated situation although a very common one. It sounds like your Mom is probably being a little too protective. To be honest with you. When I was 17 ,I was bf?gf with a 15 yr old. As soon as her Mom started thinking it was too serious (we hadn't had sex yest after several months) She started accusing her of doing such. She forbid us from seeing each other and that changed everything. We snuck out and eventually had to run away to be together because she kept catching us and we had the "Young Love Thing Going On" She got pregnant eventually and we married. Her mother lost her because of her extremes. Me and my wife had 4 kids together and were married 2 decades. I always deep in my heart knew that If her Mother had not forbid us from being together and was not so aggressive we probably would never have taken it that far. I don't know if you can learn from this but I thought I'd tell you about a most intimate detail of my life and how it changed me as a teen to a Father and Husband... Good Luck!

Well You have someone to talk to about thing you dont want to talk to your parents or friends about...you have someone to have fun with and you have someone to hug and kissss..lol...you have someone who cares about you dearly....besides your family....and well if u tell your mom these reason maybe she will consider it BUT if u respect your mom....you should see if she says its okay for you to date after u beg an plead and tell her a bunch of good reason..and then if she still says no i think u should break it off with the girl because if u have to hide your relationship and ur going out with her and you mom doesn't know an doesn't approve its very disrespectful to your mom..because she might know whats best for u..because i am a teenager and i wish i would have never started dating because i get my heart broke alot and things are alot more complicated//

Good for your mom. Kids get to messed up too soon by worrying about having a "girlfriend". Just go for group get togethers and get to know lots of girls before deciding on one to spend money and time on. You will be much happier watching for awhile and learning. You have lots of time to get a girlfriend later when you have a better idea what is important to you in a girl. Besides, it saves your heart from the fickle ones. Enjoy your youth, and when you do start to date, date lots of girls, don't choose only one until you are ready to understand them. Besides if your girlfriend is already doing the game of threatening break up, she will use it to power over you, not be in a good relationship.

Your mom doesn't approve. Okay, but she will have to live with it anyway. Tell her of your feelings, that this friend is really important to you. I am sure she could be made to see reason. You just have to press your point. Three reasons? Oh, think of some mom-pleasing reasons: She's smart and you're learning a lot from her. She is kind to you, and you can sure use some kindness. And she is beautful and you are quite stricken. If your mom isn't moved by those reasons, then you're just going to have to do what I did. Sneak around behind her back.

Three good reasons I can give you is
1. She makes you happy
2. Keeps you focus and more interested with school
3. Understands that family comes first regardless
Trust me parents just don't want you to get hurt and the 2 things they worry about the most is education then family. So promote those things always.

1) You need to learn from female companionship while your young to be a good companion in the future.
2) You don't need to spend too much time with same sex or else people will start wondering about you.
3) You want to learn how to dance with a female.

there are lots of good reasons to have a girlfriend. even if your relationship is not physical, a girlfriend provides someone you trust that knows you who you can talk to about your problems. they are someone you can always do stuff with when you are lonely, it is good experience for life and allows you to create a meaniful relationship with another person. a girlfriend is just someone you can have a lot of fun with, hope this helped

why dont you ask her,how old she was when she dated.parents love their kids so much, that they tend to forget what it was like when they were kids.maybe she thinks you will get hurt, because moms are so protective of their kids, that they want the very best for them.dont hate your mom for the way she is.just wait until you become a parent, then you will know why your mom feels the way she does.

If your not mature enough to tell your mom than i guarantee you're not mature enough for a committed relationship. I'm sorry man, but i agree with your mom on this one, she sounds like a smart lady.
