There was a girl I asked out and she told me exactly what it says above in the question box. That's not rejection, she is just being honest?. Appreciate the advice.

This example is one more lesson in dating!!
Always do your homework before you open your mouth. You
would have done better if you had found out first if she already
had a boyfriend---it saves the embarassment you had to
experience. Not many girls in a relationship will date other
guys.
Lesson # 2 could be worse if you don't check it out first!!

It means, that while she is possibly interested in you, she is honest enough to be faithful to her current relationship. She thanks you for your honesty also, to let her know that you are interested. She's a strong girl. Respect her wishes and move on.
