This guy is a Sophomore in high school. I'm not really asking about what the son should do, it's more of how wrong the dad is.

Ok..racism is everywhere, the dad is set in his own ways. The man may never change his view. I married a black man and had 2 kids with him who are now 11 and 13. My moms family went crazy with it, they got over it. My kids go to an all white school,we live in a hillbilly town and they are treated no different than a white mans kid. This is a world of change, when this man grew up the white man ruled,so now what...take it out on his own son. The son will just have to live with it and pray for the best. To the son- do what you feel is right, you may want to sit and talk to your dad. Racism is all around us,but it is getting better!!

The father is entirley and completely wrong. Not only is he basking in his world of ignorance, intolerance, and foolishness (all qualities I despise), he is trying to drag others down into it. I feel for the son.
