Yes. First, take a defensive drving program. Then consider buying a car with 4-wheel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking system), side curtain air bags, and a powerful 4-cylinder engine (so that you don't have too much power that you want to speed but enough for everyday driving, not to mention they get good gas mileage...). The most reasonable cars for teenagers are sedans because they are big, safe, and the new ones are more stylish. Go for a new Camry or Altima. I recomend with the 2007 Nissan Altima 2.5S w/ ABS and Side Curtain airbags (the side curtain are now standard for the 2007 year model). They are stylish, sleek, edgy, have the most powerful 4-cylinder in there class, aren't very expensive, and get good mpg. I hope this helps.

The best car for any 16-year old is a Ford Escort station wagon, painted dull brown, with the radio and all passenger seating removed.

For 16-year olds, cool and safe are mutually exclusive.

jags aren't cool for 16 year olds. neither are camrys and altimas. go for a coupe or hatchback (like the Mini) or HHR or Scion. If you need more room or like SUVs, look at compact crossovers like RAV4, CR-V, and Outlander. BMWs are ok, but like Audis, are too much of a responsibility for 16 year olds, maintenance wise. Jags are cool for older folks like me. I have one too. Wait at least a decade. I guess I could recommend compact sedans too, if you're going to be hauling ppls. I suggest the Civic, Mazda3, Volvo S40 (I have one; it has had a few probs in first 6 months of ownership, but I still recommend it). I would stay away from VWs for now.

My first car was a Scion xB. I loved it because there is tons of room inside of it, it gets great gas mileage, and since it's square your blind spot is really small. Plus, it doesn't go that fast so your dad won't have to worry about tickets.

Heh. Hehehe. Hehehehe. Your dad's hit the nail on the head here.

Your next car- the one you purchase yourself.
