No. If love has to be reciprocal,it is just self-gratification. Love is it's own reward. I have a little daughter and I love her more than myself,but I never forget how self-centered and needs-based her love for me is.

You've gained love and the ability to love others. Who cares how you limit your love? As long as it doesn't destroy anyone's life (including yours), love as you see fit.
