No. If love has to be reciprocal,it is just self-gratification. Love is it's own reward. I have a little daughter and I love her more than myself,but I never forget how self-centered and needs-based her love for me is.

No. It's so easy to love those who love you back and those you really like. You have gained something if you choose to love the unlovable and those who you can't stand.

Yes, it is a blessing to be able to love anyone at all, but, in the spirit of the question, no, and you may suffer a loss.

You've gained love and the ability to love others. Who cares how you limit your love? As long as it doesn't destroy anyone's life (including yours), love as you see fit.
