In the 1989 documentary series, "Man on the rim", the story of man's evolution was discribed in a simple and concise fashion, backed up by an incredibly impressive fossil record of ancient skulls.

The evidence was clear and compelling.

Why do so many fundamentalist insist that "no missing link has been found" when in fact the fossil record is quite impressive?

Because the idea of the Devil running a fossil factory and having his imps run around planning a scavenger hunt is so much more appealing. In a Wiley Coyote kind of way....

I suggest if you are truly interested in why some have problems with evolutionnary theory read the book Icons of evolution by Jonathan Wells or evolutio a theory in crisis by agnostic Michael Denton. But I doubt the people here are as open minded as they would have us believe. on top of that I have read comments from some of the leading evolutionists that express disappointment in the state of the fossil record. Expressing such sentiment as most of the fossils we have appear suddenly in the record fully formed with no intermediary transitional fossils. They have trouble explaining that most fossils have appeared in the record in the Cambrian explosion. They also mention monkeys seem to appear suddenly having their roots firmly based in nothing. I guarantee anyone who reads Icons of evolution will be surprised when they find their science class is using "proofs" that have been known to be false for some time. Such as Haecknels embryo drawings. Darwin's finches they don't tell you the whole story. The supposed new fruit flies they use as proof of evolution were created by scientists but what they fail to mention is they can't live outside the labratory as they are cripples. The peppered moths they use don't actually land on tree limbs. They were placed their for photgraphy purposes and to try and demonstrate supposed evolution. This is must read material for Christians as well. You will never have to worry about being snowed again. On top of all this, as much as evolutionary theory is interesting it really hasn't changed the way science is being done. I'll end with a quote from Richard Dawkins "It's as though they (cambrian explosion fossils) were just planted there without any evolutionary history." (Dawkins, the blind watchmaker)

Missing: There exists a "missing link" currently, today, in the chain of the fossil record. Better yet, Darwin's theory about divergence in creation (Evolution) is being rejected by top-notch Scientists from around the world ... need proof ? Go to this eye-opener of a site: Center for Science and Culture www.dissentfromdarwin.org - this will really get you thinking why the text books still pump out this regurgitated monkey puke.

missed that program in my anthropology classes. we just studied the various forms of apes and other primates with a lot of the rather comical spoofs of the past. don't think we ever resolved anything, but the academics were for study and not for theoretical conclusions.

They refuse to look at the evidence, accept only what "creationist" propaganda tells them, and believe only what they want to believe.
