Christian Devotion should be a continuous daily thing. Sunday is just the day of worship with a congregation.

Oh yes, Catholic Mass is actually conducted everyday. Not just a Wednesday night and Sunday morning thing.

And you who think "organized" congregational type worship in Church is not important....or worse, a joke, I would like to share the following story:

A member of a certain church, who previously had been attending services regularly, stopped going. After a few weeks, the pastor decided to visit him.

It was a chilly evening. The pastor found the man at home alone, sitting before a blazing fire. Guessing the reason for his pastors visit, the man welcomed him, led him to a comfortable chair near the fireplace and waited.

The pastor made himself at home but said nothing. In the grave silence, he contemplated the dance of the flames around the burning logs. After some minutes, the pastor took the fire tongs, carefully picked up a brightly burning ember and placed it to one side of the hearth all alone. Then he sat back in his chair, still silent. The host watched all this in quiet contemplation. As the one lone ember's flame flickered and diminished, there was a momentary glow and then its fire was no more. Soon it was cold and dead.

Not a word had been spoken since the initial greeting. The Pastor glanced at his watch and realized it was time to leave. He slowly stood up, picked up the cold, dead ember and placed it back in the middle of the fire. Immediately it began to glow, once more with the light and warmth of the burning coals around it.

As the pastor reached the door to leave, his host said with a tear running down his cheek, "Thank you so much for your visit and especially for the fiery sermon. I shall be back in church next Sunday."

We live in a world today, which tries to say too much with too little. Consequently, few listen. Sometimes the best sermons are the ones left unspoken.

Christians are people who are like all others. They go to Church to learn how to live and then they try to practice what they learn. I believe as all people some brains engage for one day, and some try to live right and fail. We all need encouragement. Try to love all people even Christians who engage their brain once a week.

I go to church every Sunday Morning and evening, also on Wednesday evenings.

I read and study the bible on a daily basis, even if its just to research a question I am answering here on answers.

All Christians know that without constant learning and prayer, they will fall away due to our fleshly nature. My brain is engaged every day on many topics, God included in every one of them. Its a lifestyle, not just a word.

it depends on the person, and why they go to church.
when I was growing up, and my mom made me go to church EVERY day of the week, itmade no real difference to the way i behaved. As an adult, when i do go to church, andto a church that i feel makes me feel whole, it does carry me for the week, and by saturday, I am anxious to be there the next morning and be "fed" again. That's my opinion, and I know every person has their own to... and that's okay.

Some people are on autopilot for Sunday and go back to their regular lives on Monday. But the majority carry out what they learn (or try to ) during the rest of the week.
