A shaft's stiffness will have NO impact on your swing and there is no strong correlation between stiffness and distance.
A stiffer shaft would allow more accuracy and not significantly less distance.
The stiffness importance is mainly for feel. A stiffer shaft won't allow you to feel the clubhead as much.
The proof is at the range. Try to get a "regular" and "senior" shafted 6 or 7 iron of your model and compare them against yours at the range.
I bet if you hit 10-20 balls with each version you will know quite quickly which one you prefer.

The answer is quite individual and relative to each golfer swing. There are however some basics.
The slower the club head speed the more flex in shaft is required to square that club head at impact.
A swing with a driver over 100 MPH generally requires a stiff or even extra stiff shaft.
A swing with a driver between 90 & 100 MPH generally can hit either a stiff or regular shaft
A swing with a driver less than 90 MPH generally won be able to control a still shaft and woul require a reular, lite, senior or ladies shaft.
The stiffer the shaft the less the distance and the greater the control.
Beyond all this the golfer's swing and the torque generated comes in to play. If you are pushing your drives to the right and unable to square the club face the shart maybe too stiff. Conversely if you are pulling you drives to the left the clubhead may be closing too fast and the shaft not stiff enough. Of course both these problems could be caused by swing flaws which normally can be detected by swining with different shaft which will not correct swing flaws.
Get tested a good club fitter watching your ball flight can normally determine tha best shaft for your swing.

If you have a slow swing speed a regular flex would be better, the stiffer the flex the less the speed behind the club head(especially with a slow swing)...a better flex would probably work for you

This all depends on if you are caught up in the "Ive got to hit it 300 yds like the pros do club". If not the Stiff flex will probably serve you well. The Shaft flex will not affect your swing at all. only the distance. usually you will give up 10-30 yds

it is understood that slow swingers arent maximizing their results using a stiff shaft club...ive seen where fast swingers use regular flex clubs and get away with it though...go to a golf retail store with a launch monitor , they will analyze your swing and make recommendations based on real data...most people swing stiff shaft clubs not knowing if a reg/stiff or reg shaft would be better for them...good luck!
