In criminal court because it is a crime. It to me is worse than stealing a car. To harm a child is the lowest of the low and should never be tolerated.
To those who have answered family court, I know for a fact that you are wrong at least where I live. If the parent or caregiver is arrested they are arraigned in criminal court and the case is handled in criminal court. It goes to the D.A. just like any other crime.

family court if the one doing the alleged abusing is going through a divorce with their mate ,with the referral of the case possibly to the criminal courts for prosecution.Maybe even a justice court.It all depends on what the court system is like in the jurisdiction in which one lives.
