Do many things you enjoy. To really beat depression I normally think that daily exercise will help you. I used to bike and jog alot. Normally jogging did wonders for me, even though my regular sport was swimming. Jogging gets all the systems of your body up and going. Swimming can be done so slowly that it may not help unless you really push yourself, jogging on the other hand seemed to help me alot about 10-20 years ago. These days I go to the gym and use the treadmill or stepmaster- but I suggest the outdoors. It's fresher air and the scenary is better. You might even start a weight-lifting routine 3x per week along with the cardio stuff. Cardio is more important than the weights though. New things in your life will help to, like listening to music you like, prayer or meditation practiced well, doing hobbies you enjoy, and even reading more about the topic and issues that bring you inspiration and gladness. I say jog more, read more, and stay active. B

I have battled this on and off for over 15 years with and without medication. The best thing to remember is that it WILL pass and unless it becomes too difficult for you to function, there are things that you can do to help aside from drugs. Exercise is a wonderful antidote. I joined a gym and worked off a lot of it that way. Proper diet and plenty of sleep helps, too. Whatever it takes to help you to feel better and encouraged as you wade through it. Maybe you need someone to talk to just to clear your head. I found a journal or even blogging helpful too. Good luck.

What I did was seek professional help . It actually helps to get someone to listen with you. It is also very helpful to have a family to empathize with you . In the end , it depends on you. Be positive and focus on more productive things.

Depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in your brain. It doesn't matter that your life is good. Exercise and sunshine help some people, but most folks need medicine.
