Boy, you can really seperate the catholics and the christians on this one. It is a well-known fact (by most people) that until about 30 years or so ago, catholic schools would not allow children to write left-handed. Centuries ago, the Catholic Church declared left-handed people to be servants of the Devil. For generations, left-handers who attended Catholic schools were forced to become right-handed. They justified this belief on the basis of several bible quotations that stigmatized left-handedness.
There are also quite a few superstitions about being left-handed. It wasn't until we realized, in the last half-century or so, that there are legitimate biological reasons for left-handedness, that people were no longer forced to use their right hand.
You christians purport to know all about the bible - try reading it and reading some history too.

When the bible was written, the left hand was considered "dirty." Some strict Jews (this is going to sound really strange) would only eat, drink, or write with their right hand because the left hand was used to clean one's butt. Therefore, using the left hand for any thing else was considered "defiling" the object, or food, or wine, whatever.

To defile means to corrupt something, destroy the sanctity of something, or pollute something.

Therefore, there are few references to use of the left hand and the references that are, were considered unholy or negative.

If we were / are created in the image of God, then does God have a left hand? and if so do you think he would curse his own left hand? Ya think?
This muddies the waters a bit, but think about it. The Bible is the "inspired" word of God; hence, written by man, as given in visions by God. That means the "word" should be without blemish or errors. The whole right hand - left hand thing was cultural at the time the Bible was written. Since there was no toilet paper they wiped their butt with their left hand and ate with the right, of course washing the left hand later. That cultural practice found its ways into the writings. It was the way their mind were able to communicate what God had inspired within their minds.

Funny. Amazing that someone actually took the time to compile those stats. Of course, at least 25 references to the right hand should be removed so that all is fair. Of course, left-handers don't make up 50% of the population, do they? I think they are less than 25%, so maybe the right hand is under represented.

it was adopted by Christians and is pagan in origin the name of the hand that was the one to use was right, their for right hand, was the good hand and the other hand was bad wrong , the devil is left handed, so it goes, if you did not use the right hand when eating, WHAM. If you picked up your pencil with the wrong hand WHAM, TRY MAKING THE CROSS WITH THE WRONG HAND (WHAM,WHAM, TEN HAIL MARYS AND FIVE OUR FATHERS) ALSO. YOU DO NOT put YOUR HAT ON THE BED, OR OPEN AN UMBRELLA IN THE HOUSE. WHAT HAVE THESE THING HAVE IN COMMON SUPERSTITION. WHEN i WENT TO SCHOOL WE HAD TO USE THE RIGHT HAND. left handed . can openers, these things did not exist. and I am still waiting for a left handed mouse NO not a mouse that I can use with my left hand but a real left handed mouse.

Christianity isn't against anything.
It's not even a religion. It's a reality. The term religion was made up to confuse mankind from the true God. The God of Israel. Jahovah God The Lily Of The Valley The bright morning star emanuel King of Kings Lord of Lords Tetragrammaton
Who can undo what God has set in motion?
I tell you that your very breath is according to His will and if it wasn't you wouldn't be breathing. Might as well take a moment to look up to Him and say "Hey God, ..thanks man!"
We all face troubles, but i becomes only worse when you start to server the Lord. The bible says that hated Him and they will hate us. The world today being against God, has fullfilled His word in the process! LOL, how u like that? Even hating God is fullfilling prophesy!

That's funny. The Bible doesn't say anything about right-handed or left-handed people. It does talk about the "right hand" of God. The right side was the position of honor second only to the center. People understood this in context and did not take it to be an indictment against left-handed people.

Using your line of thinking, those on the political "left" should find those passages offensive as well. LOL

Let me lend a hand with answering your question. Read John 3:3-8, it is based upon 'heart' > Following that, you'll be using both hands. I have never heard anyone mentioning "against left handedness". Most people use both hands, unless you have one missing. Possibly, you may be trying to figure out the message upon self-intellect, not Holy Spirit revelation. Possibly, provide a Scripture then next time we'll receive an answer from God perspective than man's perspective. Okay?

it wasn't meant to be LITERAL ..... it's just metaphors. The side of the planet where the bible originates ( muslims, jews and all) prefer the use of the right hand to eat, write...etc. Left hand is used to...umm...not to be gross but wipe your bottom and similar unpleasant things....... and those verses were basically used so that those people can relate and understand the meaning of what was said........has nothing to do with being left handed or whatever.....just metaphors!
