Yes Bulldogs are prone to excessive gas no matter what food they eat. Some food may give them more gas and some may give them less but they still have lots of gas no matter what they eat. I have many friend with Bulldogs that eat top notch food and still are very gassy. Another thing is Bulldogs are very high maintenance dogs. They need their wrinkles cleaned daily and usually need their butts wiped every time they go to the bathroom. Many also have elongated soft palettes and Stenotic Nares (narrow nasal openings) and may require surgery to fix these problems. All dogs have the potential to pass gas. Bulldogs have other issues though. Many bulldogs get skin infections due to all of their wrinkles. Some have problems with their eyes that require surgeries, and most have allergies. Many bulldogs have respiratory problems due to their short nose. I would not advise you to get a bulldog unless you want to spend a lot of money on a dog. A bulldog's lifespan is approx. 8yrs.

Well, I've never heard that one before, i have a pit/boxer mix and yes when she does pass gas it is a very, very bad odor. But she doesnt have gas often, maybe its the type of food they are being fed.

I think the person that told you that meant he had bad gas. Certainly it isn't the breed. It's usually what a person feeds any breed that can determine if they have that problem! Or they have a condition that causes excessive flatulence. ; P
