There's this girl that lives in my town and i've had a crush on her for years but we never knew each other directly. However, we worked at the same job 2 summers ago so we met. I planned on asking her out all summer but I didn't have the guts. I planned on going for it last summer but she didn't work there anymore. I've been thinking about her lately but since we don't go to the same school or hang out with the same people, I never see her. I think that one of my friends might still talk to her sometimes so thats probably the only way I could get in touch with her. I was thinking about asking him to find out if she would ever go out with me and if she would then he could give me her number. I know this sounds desperate and I would feel kinda weird doing it but I cant figure out any other way. Also, i've never asked a girl out so I wanna take a chance. Should I do this?

Seems pretty complicated. How about calling her on the phone?

You are clearly a beta dude. Doing this type of thing may work with some women but younger sexier women are not going to go for it. You need a little boost in confidence if you want to go for this type of girl. That is ok though. Find another way. Look her up on facebook or something. Or find where she works and "happen to show up" be like "oh you work here..." then say something like "we should hang out sometime do you have email." I know email sounds beta but it is fine for you because you have never done this. Girls will always give you there email. Then send an email being like "lets hang out. when are you free this week? talk soon." When she responds - if it is positive - you will be able to close out her numbe and the date.

Go for it! It may seem immature, but it works almost all the time. Leaking your crush to a mutual friend has always worked for me and it gives you a total new 'in' on the situation. Some people are charmed by this while others aren't so hopefully this works for you.

May I suggest u organise a gathering, get ur friend who has in contact with her to invite her along. Then hopefully she turns up, go talk to her directly. Ask her for an email addr or if she's OK with it, get her number. Ask her for a casual drink session instead of jumping to a date. She'd probably freak out if u do.

you'll never know if you dont try. but dont be too eager, just ask if the three of you and maybe some other friends can hang, as to not spook her, plus you can see if you still remember her as the same.

In every show that I've ever seen where the "friend" talks to the girl the girl falls for the friend. I'd suck it up and ask her myself or you'll end up losing a friend and losing the girl.

Yes! Take a chance! What do you have to lose? Either way she'll be very flattered that you went out of your way to find her!

Sure, why not? She might say no, but at least then you aren't left wondering what might have happened. And she might think it's really sweet you went to all that trouble.
Good luck!!

look your best. hang out with her if you can. be nice. do friendly stuff and be a sweetheart and she'll want to hang out with you.
hanging out with her will definately put you on her radar which is important. if you approach her by saying i miss seeing you around let's hang out and be her friend it should work out. listen to her, flatter her, treat her like your buddies but be polite...she'll have trouble saying no to someone she admires and respects...even LIKES!!
good luck!
