You can not tell unless she is infected at the time of any sexual contact. If you are consedering a relationship, why don't you go together and get tested for all std's including where they test your spinal cord fluid to see if herpes is present.
I have a friend that contracted herhes from a guy when she was younger, The husband she has understands that she breaks out on her cervix (you can't see the bumps) but he has never gotten it. They have two kids and a ah\happy home. Get tested.

You can't tell unless she is in the middle of a flare-up, and even then, unless u r examining her vagina in bright light like a doctor you may not detect it. Sometimes when the person is about to have an outbreak they report feeling a tingling sensationand it can be passed at that time but you'd never see it no matter how close you looked.USE A CONDOM AND DON'T PERFORM CUNNILINGUS ON HER!!

you cant until she is having an outbreak, whih can happen once a week or even once a year... but she will always have and transmit the virus... and you may catch it and have it every day for a year... it all depends on the way your body reacts.. so, always make your partner get tested if its serious and have protected sex.. but even protected sex can transmit it to your genitals... so, really, this is why sleeping around just isnt kosher anymore..

You will see the sores, unless she is in the silent phase and then you can't tell.

She should have it tattooed on her thigh. If not, ask. If that doesn't work, if you get downtown and you see red bumps, run!

If you're too embarrassed to ask her, you shouldn't be...ya know...
