DO not listen to that person that said to wash your dog with head and shoulders. That will strip the frontline from the skin because it will take all of the skin oils and make your problem worse.
Frontline is good for boe.. be sure you do not apply it 2 days before or after a bath.
Frontline is okay for cats, but I recc. revolution. Less topical reactions with feline revolution.
If you are having problems...you need to treat your house and yard for fleas as well.
You only see 5% of the problem..the other 95% is in your home.
Treat your house with something like Diazanon crystals or any other IGR ( Insect growth regulator) product. The IGR will kill not only the fleas but the flea eggs and flea maggots that live in your yard & carpet, otherwise you will just be re-infested in 6 weeks.
Good luck!

You can use Bio Spot or ask your Vet for the right dosage of Frontline for your cat to be sure of amount and that it is appropriate according to type of cat. Your Vet and product instructions will tell you how and where to apply it.
You put this on monthly and at least a few days after a bath and at least a week before a bath for best results. If there are already fleas in your house, you might consider getting it treated as well, but the fleas that get on your animals will die. Also, get your pets checked for worms as they most likely have tapeworms at least, from the fleas.
Since having my dogs on Bio Spot (formerly on Advantage, then later on Frontline, now on Bio Spot) I have not had problems with fleas and they are bad where I live. Bio Spot has not had any side effects on my animals and keeps them flea free. If you apply the product monthly, it will keep the fleas off.

All that I am going to tell you must be done on the same day. Arrange to have your home sprayed by a professional. Have them spray inside and the outer perimeter of your home for fleas. Take the dog and the cat to a groomer and have them given flea baths. Bring them home after the bug spray has dried. after the flea baths put the "frontline" or whatever brand you are going to use on both animals. Make certain that the chemical for the cat is where she can't lick it. If you follow these instructions. And follow up each month with spraying the house and using the drops on the cat and dog you can beat the problem. But if you dont spray, bathe and use drops all on the same day you are just wasting your time. Good luck -k-

I would also recommend CAT Frontline for your cat. Never put a dog product on a cat, it can literally kill them. You should use the Frontline every month from now until the end of summer. The frontline will eventually take care of the fleas but I can't tell you how long it will take. You can always use the Frontline, removed the dog and cat from your home and set off a Flea "bomb" to remove the fleas from your home. Be aware that even doing that, there will be flea eggs that will hatch in approx. 14 days after you bomb, the frontline should take care of those. I hope this helps.♥

REVOLOUTION is the best thing ever... from the vet, its about 6 dollars per cat 10 per dog depending on weight!! It works the best out of everything! I had 6 cats and 3 dogs with a huge flea problem and in 1 day the fleas were all dead!! Program works pretty well also.

I dont know about cats but my vet told me for dogs before you put on the medication put the dog in water to drown the fleas then drain the water and start a new batha nd use a shampoo that has oatmeal in it or something that helps there skin like a moisturizer. dont use flea shampoo it makes the fleas bite more and makes your dog more itchier. then you can apply the medication
Also to get fleas out of your house buy a flea collor cut it up and put it in your vacum bag then vacum your whole house and the fleas will die. p.s. the collar doesnt work on the dog because it works just on the neck. also wash your sheets once a week

We had fleas about a year ago. Best thing to do is treat your animals first, use Frontline Plus. They make one especially for cats, too. Make sure you get the right ones for your animals. They go by weight. Then Cover all your food, dishes. Remove all living beings (humans, animals, etc.) and get a good flea bomb, and bomb the house. The process takes about 2-3 hours that everyone has to be out of the house. After it is safe for you to go back in the house, you have to open the windows and let it air out for about 30 minutes or so, according to directions! Then you can bring the animals back in. Be sure you have removed their water prior to bombing and any food, both human and animal. When you can go back in, vacuum the crap out of everything. Use the flea bomb according to manufacturer's directions, and you will have success. I also put garlic powder in my animal's food as a flea deterrent, cos fleas hate the smell of garlic! Go to your pet store and get a flea bomb kit and follow the directions carefully. We have a small house, 1200 sq. feet, and one kit was enough for us-a kit usually contains 2 bombs. Best of luck to you. I know it's a pain in the butt, but at least the weather is warming up- we had to do it in December. When it gets to the part where you have to open your windows, you'll be glad it's March! Best of luck to you!

Frontline is good, but you may want to get the Frontline Plus since you have a flea problem already. Frontline Plus kills the eggs as well as the adult fleas. You also should treat carpeting, pet's bedding, furniture, or anywhere else your pets are spending their time. You can ask your veterinarian to recommend a good treatment or check out what local pet stores offer.

You want to consult your vet , because usually they can give you the flea medication for a discount. They have flea collars for cats also.
