I think they both have some thing to offer our kids. I placed my kids in private schools so that they would develop good study habits. They both stayed in private school through the 3rd grade for my son and the 5th for my daughter. However, there is nothing like public school memories and so they were switched in the 4th and 6th grade. Now they did stray as all kids do and this is where the parents come in because no matter which type of school system our kids are in the teachers alone cannot do it and as parents we have to do our parts. My kids always read above level and when it came to the end of grade testing they never had a problem. My son had to finish his high school tour in Florida and they have a test called FCAT and his first and only attempt was a success. So private school give you good study habits. Public schools have more of a distraction but with good foundation you will not fail. My daughter is in her 3rd year at college and my son decided not to go to college but is in a trade school one is 20 and the other is 18.

I feel that public school is better. You get more of an exposer to what the real world is like. In a private school all there is are rich snobby kids who all have drug and drinking problems. and also private school kids think they're better than everybody else.

Scholastically speaking Private schools are better. They teach how to research and think for yourself and are less politicized. Generally far less crime and drugs or gangs...They use the KISS method of keeping things simple and to the point. Public schools could learn from them. Not everybody is going to became a famous sports figure.

Here in the Philippines, private schools are much better... Public schools are seriously underfunded, you don't get the quality education the private schools can provide...

The private schools, historically, have been proven better.
One reason is that they pay higher wages for better-educated teachers.
