I'm REALLY leaning towards the Leica.. They're just cool. Although I realize that the Panasonic is almost identical. Is it worth the extra $ for th Leica? The Leica seems to have a great re-sale value.. Is it worth it though?

The lens is the same. The sensor is the same. The only difference is the software. Leica's software is better at converting pictures into JPG files... but the RAW images are the same.
Here are some "Not so scientific comparison shots of the two cameras" in jpg mode:

Like I said earlier, with a D-Lux3 you're paying $200 extra for a red dot. Or $300 extra if you consider the Canon A640. That's double the price. So as an instrument, I can't see how the D-Lux3 is worth it. But if you like the styling THAT much... well, it's your money.

Although they look identical, there is a big difference. The Leica Dlux3 has a much faster and better image processor. Plus, I read somewhere that the lenses are not identical, the glass on the Leica is better.
