Revelation - is it going to happen?

It's my favorite part of the Bible, but often times is confuses me. Like in 7:3, "And I was told that the number of those who were marked with God's seal on their foreheads were 144,000" which was all the Israelites. Nowadays, aren't there much more than that? And what about Chirstians, aren't there billions? And 11:4-14, why are the 'witnesses' lamps and trees? They are described as having mouths and full bodies, which makes little sense to me. (but I'm sure if I asked Father Cook he coul tell me what everything meant...) And stars being dropped to earth, stars are big huge balls of fire hundreds of times as large as earth! Most of it is all symbolic, I know, but half of it cannot physically ever happen.

Or, maybe I've just been reading too much Angels and Demons, eh? =D

JM: Remember; there is a lot of symbolism concerning the prophesies in the Book of Revelation. The 144,000 are pertinent to spiritual Jews - not physical Jews since they don't believe in Jesus Christ. "Stars" are not the suns we see in the sky at night but are symbolic for angels. Approx. 2 thirds of Bible prophecy is YET to be fufilled. The Book of Revelation has to be read in context and has inset chapters within chapters. Let the Bible translate the Bible and can be best understood by comparing the various concepts, symbolisms, and flow of events when cross-referencing with other Books of the Bible. The most important thing is to pray..The definition of prayer being a heartfelt talk with God. Revelation 7:3 the 144,000 are High Priests. 12,000 from each of the tribes of Isreal 12 tribes total.. These are they who have authority from Jesus Christ to teach the Gospel and adminster the ordinances thereof.. if you continue to read in verses 7:9 "After this I beheld, and lo, a great multitude which no man could number, of all nation, and kindreds,and people, and tongues,stood before the lamb,clothed tihe robes and palms in their hands. This is the remainder of the peoples the 144,000 is not everyone who will be saved. However they are sealed they are protected from that which is to befall the earth. they shall preach repentance and faith in Jesus christ they are all very much like the 12 apostles of the Lord.. Onward to Verse 11:4-14 they are not lamps and trees it is a parable..that those who have eyes to see or ears to hear shall very much so comprehend.. go back one verse to 11:3 it says they are Witnesses. they are two prophets who at sometime in the future shall speak the word of God and prophesieth to the world at somepoint in time..The world rejects them and they are slain at Jeruslaem 7:8-10 where also our Lord was crucified..the people of jerusalem shall let their bodies lie in the streets for 3.5 daysafter 3.5 days they come back to life..Anyhow though it is hard to understand it unless ye ask for wisdom like it says in James 1:1-7.. Ye must obtain from God that knowledge that man can not give nor can he take away. Also it is written " By The power of the Holy Ghost, Ye may know the truth of all things." Pray and remember always Jesus Christ did say "the End is not at Once but By and By"..The original grammer of "By and by" in the time of his sojourn on Earth meant over a long period of time.People Die everyday to those alive at Christs preaching it has come for them and to someone is coming.this very second.Revelation is prophecy of future events to the Earth..However I could die tonite and it would be my last day today.That is why we must better our time in this realm and not waste it waiting for the world to change.

Get a Hebrew translated bible. The bible was a series of historical accounts that had to be verified at least three times before they were added. Most of everything in the Bible has already happened, but the very last has not. That was prophesy and trying to figure out when something is to happen is impossible. If you can read and see what is happening right now as it correlates to the original translation yes it will happen it is just a matter of when.

The 144,000 will consist of 12,000 from each tribe of Israel(Joseph). They will not be Gentiles, but unmarried Jewish men.

Revelation 11:4-14 The two olive trees and the two candlesticks are symbols relate to Zechariah 4:2-6.... The lampstand is Israel. The two witnesses will be for Israel in the future as Zerubbabel and Joshua were in the past.

The 144000 are jews that will be raptured during the tribulation.All other christians who served God will be raptured before the great tribulation.There will be people killed,that won`t take the matrk of the beast.Theses will go to Heaven to be with Jesus and the other Christians.Those who don`t take the mark and serve God during the tribulation and make it through also will be with God in the end.

The very first phrase of that book say "The Revelation of Jesus Christ". All of the things written in there focus on Christ.

if you dont believe Jesus then you might have doubt. But if you believe Him you must accept also that all of those things written in there happened already, are happening, and will happen.

Yes, it is going to happen! I'm sure you've noticed how many prophesies have been fufilled already, just as Gods word says. There isn't very many left, so it's coming soon! We don't know the year, month, day, or hour our saviors coming, but when he does, it's gonna be a Glorious day, for those saved at least.
