Can somebody interpret what this line means? It is from the Apostles' Creed.

It's speaking of belief and "He" is Jesus... but pay it no mind. It's BS.

Christ the Lord already reigns through the Church, but all the things of this world are not yet subjected to him. The triumph of Christ's kingdom will not come about without one last assault by the powers of evil.

681
On Judgment Day at the end of the world, Christ will come in glory to achieve the definitive triumph of good over evil which, like the wheat and the tares, have grown up together in the course of history.

682
When he comes at the end of time to judge the living and the dead, the glorious Christ will reveal the secret disposition of hearts and will render to each man according to his works and according to his acceptance or refusal of grace.

Peace and every blessing!

Personally, I think it's saying that when he, in this case Jesus, comes back again, its judgement day, you know, end of the world. And that everybody, even the ghosts gets judged once and for all. In the creed, its a way of proclaiming the faith in Jesus's coming again, and, in extent, a way of saying that s/he is willing to be judged

It means we die when we die we lose our bodies...However in order for us to receive a fullness of Joy we must have flesh and bone.Thefore as Christ overcame death. In the ends of time he shall return to the Earth. The Gift which he gives to all men whether good or evil, yes, even hitler and sadam, he resurects all of us or in other words he gives us "ghosts/spirits/whatever we are when we die" back our bodys and we shall all stand upon this earth at once all of us shall come before him to be judged by him or in other words to be paid for our labors under the sun..Ie paycheck like you get on friday.. He shall measure to every man according to the measure he has measured to his fellow man.." The living and the dead means all everyone From Adam to the last of us..Those still alive at his coming and those who have been dead since the days of Noah. Now Jesus paid the price for our sins if we repent of them and forsake them but if we do not..Then we must suffer as he did..No one really knows how much Christ suffered for our sins..but he did say "Which suffering caused me the greastest of all even God to tremble and to bleed blood from every pore as sweat so great was my anguish for the sins of my people," so basically in my limited imagination i conceive Hitler as being evil so Hitler after he has suffered as Christ has suffered shall be resurected also and be Judged and allowed to live seperate and single on Earth much like this forever.. The living and the dead..Will hitler Return to Gods presence.Doubtful it is also written"No murderer has eternal life.." and also "Know ye not the ye would be more miserable living with a just God with a knowledge of all of your guilt then ye would be to dwell with the damned souls in hell." therefore non but the truly repentant are saved in the highest kingdom or do we suppose we just walk in with Abraham and Moses and all the patriachs those who sacrificed their lives and jus sit down and sup with them? I think not..
