My kids aren't allowed to hang out in Yahoo Answers (they're 6 and 9), so I thought I'd answer on their behalf.
My 9yo loves homeschooling. We talk about the possibility of her going to school one day and she doesn't want to do it. There's so much flexibility and openness to working with interests--she knows school wouldn't be like that. She also likes the fact that when she gets really frustrated with something, she can put it aside and come back to it later.
My 6yo ds isn't quite aware enough of what school is like compared to what homeschooling is like. He's a typical 6yo boy, though, and likes to be active. His formal work doesn't take very long so he gets the rest of the day to be a kid (play) and do things that interest him (build stuff, participate in a science experiment with us...).
I know a number of kids who are homeschooled. Almost all of them love homeschooling, especially those who had previously been in public school. Some didn't, though. I know one girl (teen)--an only child with a single mom who had to work--who got very, very lonely and decided to go to school. The only other homeschooled child I've come across who didn't like homeschooling was this 13yo who had been pulled from school the year before. She was a prissy type--Minnie Mouse voice and very, very concerned about what people thought of her. I think homeschooling was the best chance her mom could give her to learn to be herself.

I was homeschooled. I finished almost a year ago. I loved it. I had gone to public school for 11 years. I finished 2 years worth of school in 9 months.

Yes, I'm 15 and have been homeschooled for about a decade now, and I think it's ok. I still have occassional pangs of lonliness, but now I have friends to remind me that I'm not alone.

I am and it soo fun. You get to sleep in a lot and get to finish your work early. You know, you are only required to go to school for 4 hours. You still get socialization time, trust me.
Good Luck, it'll be al right!! ;)

I'm homeschooled. I love it. It is fun. One thing is that you don't get to see your friends as much. Hope this helps. Good luck!!! I do mine on the computer.
