Belize city is your typical tourist town, but once out of the city it is very nice. They speak mostly english and they use ameican dollars. If I were to live there, I probably would look into one of the Cayes. I was a divemaster for a resort on Chapel Caye for about five years and I loved it. As in the previous post, there were a lot of investment opportunities. It has become a berthing spot for many of the cruise lines as well. So there are many opportunities for development.
