It is carbonated. I suspect you know this already, and your real question is "Why do they carbonate it?"

Well I've always wondered this, too. Because to me it seems that carbonating it makes it taste horrible, and hard to drink (acidicy).

Well the truth is, soda is just a mixture of drugs (caffiene and others) and sugers etc... that are addicting and pleasing to the brain's energy source. But all this stuff doesn't taste good, ever drink soda when it has gone flat? This is why they carbonate it - to give it that extra Buzz and make it taste Alive.

Heck, if it weren't for our brain's telling us we NEED the chemicals in these Soda's, they would probably taste like garbage to our taste buds, regardless of the carbonation.

Soda is acidic from the sugar content. Drink sparingly.
