Ok...so even if neither would be considered healthy they are both still better for you than bread...right??

There are different answers. Corn tortillas are better than white flour tortillas. Whole wheat or multigrain tortillas are probably better than corn just because of corn's high sugar content. I would not categorically say tortillas are unhealthy-some have a lot of fat. Altogether a whole grain bread is better for you, but white bread is a nutritional null-no nutrients, lots of calories. You just have to read labels and compare to find the healthiest choices.

They are about the same. Whole wheat are the most nutritious but the corn and white wheat are traditional. I will say corn but with the knowledge that corn masa harina flour is dried corn soaked in lime (chemical not the fruit) to make it have the flavor your taste in tortillas and lime pretty much leaches out all the nutrients. Flour tortillas are perhaps worse because white flour, even enriched, has no nutrients. In the old days the Mexicans soaked their corn in wood ashes (lime) to make the corn swell then they dried it and ground it into meal.

Depends on the type of flour, if it is just white flour with no added vitamins ect. then the corn flour is better. Then you can use whole wheat flour or many others depending on how much money you want to spend on flour and the texture and taste you desire..so corn over white. Maggie May

Technically the corn, because there is still an iota of fiber left and the wheat has been bleached, stripped of any nutrients, and has pretty much become toxic.

However, corn tortillas are hardly healthy. It is kind of like asking, "Which makes for a better weekend? The Flu or Rubella?"

corn, but then what a person puts on/in the tortilla, I would say is where most of the fat and calories are. At least that is the the case in my house, meat, re fried bean, cheese, cheese, salsa, sour cream yeah thats where all the fat and calories are.
