I have a crush on this guy in my class. He seems sorta shy but nice. I saw him looking at me a couple times, but I'm too shy to go up and say hi. I'm thinking of sitting next to him in class (its not assigned seating but most people usually sit at the same places) but would that classify me as desperate? And if he'd be interested in dating, there's only a few weeks of the semester left, then months of summer and we live in separate states. Could this possibly stand a chance (albeit a slim one)?? My close girl friend sits next to me and once, looked at him and me while we were talking (we always sit across each other) and she smiled to herself..does she know something I don't, or am I just imagining things?

hey, thanx everyone :) i took the first step, sat next to him, and yes, initiated conversation. and then seemed like we were making up for lost time having not talked before. and it seems like the start of a great friendship, is what it looks right now. ive never felt this comfortable talking to a guy before, its strange...

I think that you are doing something good for yourself if you go out of the box and sit next to him. ALso I wouldn't think it would come off as desperate. Seperate states, would be a little hard, however, if you have more semesters to go with each other, 4 mos. of just being friends wont hurt anything. As for your friend, ask her, shes a close girl friend you should be able to ask her and she should be able to tell you honestly.
Good luck.

Sitting next to him would be perfect, but remember if he seems shy then he might not make a move.. I tend to give probably wayyyy too much relationship advice and one of my main points is that being shy can do nothing but destroy you. You have to realize that in life, if you want something - bad enough - you have to reach out your hand and grasp for it.. try sitting next to him first because that gives him a chance to do something.. if he doesn't, then this is where it gets harder for you.. you might actually have to start talking to the boy!!! Remember, small talk- anything to get one single word from your mouth to his ear will help. even a smile and a hello ^ ^ . About your friend, ever think that maybe she sees YOU looking at HIM all of the time? You probably make it dead obvious that your crazy over the boy!! hahah!

Anyways, the whole "chance of a relationship" thing is a wholeeee wayyy different topic but get this..

Always follow your dreams, because if you even give up on ONE- who's to say that wasn't the one that was going to make you complete.. what happens if you two end up REALLY falling for eachother!? Then it almost seems nothing but logical to try to continue whatever you guys can with eachother.

I'd say you're imagining the thing with your friend. And no, it would not classify you as desparete. You should just go for it. So what if you live in different states during the summer? You can visit each other, think about how fun that would be...

sit next 2 him and talk 2 him. if hes shy you will have 2 make the first move. don't worry about it almost being the end of the semester, just try becoming friends with him first. your friend might have thought u 2 looked cute 2gether. good luck! : )
