I don't know about asparagus, but I have a dog who just loves green beans. I have to cook them on a back burner and keep my eyes on him the whole time because he's scheming on how to get them as soon as he smells them cooking. He also opened up a sealed quart jar of vegetable soup once while we were gone. Ate the whole jar and didn't even leave teeth marks on the metal lids. He's a little too smart. :)

My dogs get asparagus or green beans from time to time when there is some leftover from our own dinner. My two girls LOVE bananas, but I only give them small amounts of that because of the sugar content. The asparagus is probably a very healthy chew for her and probably feels great on her sore gums.

Vegetables and fruits are good for dogs, there are a few to watch out for though. Apple is ok but not the apple core (something in the seeds) also grapes are bad (cause liver damage) onion and garlic are both bad. but almost everything else is ok. My dogs love apple, banana, carrots, and celery stalks (natures dental floss) and then they have celery breath :)

I think asparagus is fine. My Maltese loves all crunchy veggies and fruits --- carrots, jicama, apples, pears. She also likes pineapple and mango. When my picky eater turns up her nose at dry dog food, I just cut some veggies/fruits up into tiny pieces, and then mix it in so she'll finish her meal.

Asparagus is fine for a dog. I'm vegetarian so my dogs get veggie table scraps. They like carrots and cucumbers but have no interest in bananas. :) oh they like corn too.

I had the same issue with my basset hound, he loves veggies, well he loves any kind of food for that matter :). My vet told me any type of veggies are good for him as long as he still ate his dog food due to the fact he still needs the nutritional content in it.

Most veggies are good for dogs. I've heard corn is bad to feed dogs, it is harder for them to digest.
