Doing that is often a sign of a bladder or kidney infection. You should immediately take the kitty to the vet.

Ain't that fun?.....NOT! Our dominant male felines' last Human allowed this. We do not. A simple capfull of bleach spread out accross the bottom of the tub entrance in a thin line will deter the little beastie just nicely. Do you enjoy a good snoot full of bleach? I would think not. It is pretty strong stuff. Now imagine that smell times 1000. That is what your cat smells. After an initial scrubbing, close the shower curtain, (if you have one) and look where the curtain lays against the tub. Now open the curtain, and step in then close the curtain. Lay the thin line of bleach down behind the curtain. Continue to do this until the feline is no longer tempted to pee in the tub. Encourage all in the home NOT TO PEE IN THE TUB ALSO. The feline may be attempting to cover that scent. Bleach on kitties paws? In the unlikely event this does happen, the cat will lick it off then puke it up. Wash the babies paws with a soaking wet cloth, or emerse in water, what ever is easier for you. Either way, it is not a pleasant experience for the cat, and will add to the deterent. They will smell that bleach long before they get to it. Encourage the cat to use the box by placeing him/her in the cat box when they are caught entering the bathroom. Keep the door closed to that room whenever possible. Redouble your efforts to increase the overall cleanliness of the cat's box, by changing it more often. Nobody likes those highway rest stop bathrooms, your cat may like the litter box better if it is changed/serviced more often. Nobody likes to "go outside," either. Do the little beast right. Freakin' great! This damn spell check thinggy is not working again! Could some genius at yahoo! answers fix this blooddy thing!?!? Y-A-H-O-O-!

Funny you'd share that info. A good friend of mine has a cat does the same thing. She just lets him do it as she doesn't really catch him when it's happening so is hard to break him of the habit. She even has a litter box close by. She says that her cat at times even pees in the bathroom sink.
But, in answer to your question...maybe buy a large role of bubble wrap and lay it down in the bath tub. Cats don't like to be around abrasive sounds so that might deter your cat from wanting to walk on that bubble wrap to take a pee in the tub. Maybe also put a litter box in the bath tub for awhile then keep moving the litter box bit by bit to the location that you want the cat to pee.

My cat likes to roll around in my bathtub, so I feel your pain a little. (I'm constantly pulling cat hair out of the drain).
It is possible that the cat is having urinary tract problems, so I agree with the above--taking Kitty to the vet for a checkup is probably not a bad idea. That said, keeping a stubborn cat out of the bathroom and the tub is not always as easy as leaving the door shut.
Try putting her litter box in the bathtub for a day or so. That way she will reassociate the box with going to the bathroom and gradually move it back toward its usual place. If that doesn't work, you might try giving her a bath (with plenty of help), so she associates the tub with *that place* and no longer wants to even be in the bathroom.
She may also want some more privacy. Does she have a cover to her litter pan, or is it in a somewhat sheltered spot? She may simply have decided she wants to be modest and wants to hide while she does her business.

The only way I can suggest is if and when you catch your cat in the act of going to the bathroom in the bathtub, have a spray bottle of water ready and spray the cat in the backside. If you do that a few times, it will stop doing that..It works also if you don't want them on counter tops etc. That is how I got my cat out of the habit of walking on the counter tops where I cook, which I felt was unsanitary...everytime I saw her and caught her in the act, I spray her with plain water and she finally got the idea.

Cats!!! I'll share a secret that I have shared with other people on answers that works quite well. Get yourself an aerosol deodorant spray and if you catch your cat in the act, spray this in the air- they hate this sound and will run away and hide under your bed or somewhere else. Trust me- they get the picture when you do this every time that they do something that you so not want them doing! I think my cat is going insane! He is now jumping up on my bed at night and then running off as soon as I try to pet him and then he does it again until he eventually gets tired and goes to sleep on the pillow next to me! Before this, he was walking around my entire body in circles and then eventually sleeping on the pillow next to my head- he's gone nuts!!

Long ago I had a cat that did that a few times. I took it out and put it in the litter box to show him where it goes. He stopped doing it and using the litter box so maybe the same will work with you.

Make the sides of the tub to high for the cat to jump to.
Get a class door or something like that,
OR
Lock the cat out of the b-room.

If your cat was previously litter trained, and has recently started using the tub, take it to the vet, there is most likely something medically wrong.

Try putting the cat litter box next to the bathtub, if that doesnt work, the element of suprise will eventually stop him! Catch him in the act and sternly say...NO POTTY! then put him in his cat litter box and tell him you go potty here! hope this helps...
