I was just wondering, for people that live there, how safe they think it is compared to what the news seems to say.

i dont live there but i have relatives there and i visit every year. I go to Ramat HaSharon. and Tel Aviv mostly. Israel is a beautiful city, its a amazing blend of ancient and modern culture, and it is full of the history of early judaism, christianity, and islam. It also has a great climate, i live in CA and its pretty much like the weather here except really humid and more hot in the summer. (100 degrees is common) Also, the best part is that its really warm in the evening, so everyone is out really late. The beaches are beautiful, and its really fun to go sit on the beach and eat a light dinner or go during the day. Also everything is really close by, cause its such a small country, so you can drive from like a small town to the big city in less than an hour. It is perfectly safe there, it is less likely to die from a terrorist attack or w/e there than it is to die in a car crash in the US. Its fine, and there is alot of security, but other than that everyone is laid back and calm. Everyone is really friendly there too, random people on the street talkt o you more, people are less uptight. it is a really fun place to visit, you should definetly go there some day!

i spent a long time in a town called Petah Tikvah. It is very safe there. Like most places in Israel it is constantly under construction.

Also, any time you go to a mall or resteraunt, you get searched. I think this is a good thing, I wish they would do it more in the USA.

Israel is a great place to live. I love it.

If you are jewish especially - it is your "job" to make sure that fear of terror does not keep you from living there.

The news is eggagerated. It only shows the bombs that go off, or what is going on in Gaza.

However, you will never hear about all the bombers that were caught before they had the chance to blow things up.

Also, the fighting in Gaza is very far from any place you may live.

Hope this helps.

I live in Rishon Le'zion and I feel very safe in Israel. What you see on the news is exaggerated. If you think realistically, which place is safe in today's world. Anything can happen anywhere. You don't have to be in Israel to feel unsafe.

I am now on vacation in the States, but I live in Tel Aviv and I feel much safer in Israel than I do in many American and European cities.
