My 5 month old long coat chi's ears are still not up. Both of her parents ears stood up just fine. She's still going through her teething stage and her ears are only 2/3's the way up. My breeder suggested that I use Nexcare tape, fold them vertically and tape them around twice. She looks like she has antennas!! LOL!! I did it last night and this morning I took the tape off and, wa-la, they were up somewhat better! My question is this: have anyone of you done this and got the results you were looking for?

It can take a while as the cartilage needs time to harden

I would imagine the taping is very much the same as a chinese crested, here is an ear taping guide

saturating tape with vegetable oil or mineral oil is an effective way to remove

My crested ears here the breeder used a different method

If you aren't planning to show the dog, I'd suggest leaving the ears alone and letting the dog grow naturally. Many dogs will chew tape. The dog could get choked and die or have serious digestive problems.

Just keep taping the ears up! It can take awhile for them to stand.

Good-luck!

Use plain old masking tape, wrap AROUND the ears=at the FOLD(,Do *NOT* FOLD the ear) &..........

***LEAVE IT ON!!!!!****

Do NOT keep taking it off to PEEK!!!
LEAVE IT ALONE!!!

&...teething has NOTHING to do w/it!
