This can have a lot do do with they type of roast and the acidity level of the coffee. The origin and the way the coffee is roasted can be contributing factors. It's probably not good to drink highly acidic coffee on an empty stomach. You might want to consult a physician on this one also, because it could be something much more serious. You might want to check out www.coffeegeek.com and www.counterculturecoffee.com for more information.

Most brewed coffee is acidic. It may be too acid for your stomach to handle.

Since you probably are a student, try taking a sample to your school chemistry class, and have the teacher run a pH test on it. The lower the pH the more acid the coffee is. You'll be surprised at how acid it is.

You might want to try one of the low acid coffees that are available. Coffee is a great drink. I hope you find a way to enjoy it!

The best of luck to you :>)))

Coffee you are drinking is high in acid. You should find the lower acid version, it tastes good and stopped the problem for me.

Yes especially if I haven't eaten much. They do make a low acid variety that is supposed to be easy on the tummy. I think it is Foldgers...maybe.
