Like you, I'm 15. I am pretty witty, but I didn't just become witty overnight. It's a gradual thing, really. I listened to Adam Carolla, a radio talk show host, for a year before I came close to matching his wit. You should check him out in addition to Stewart and Colbert. Being around witty people helps too. My high school soccer coach is very sarcastic and witty, and that has really rubbed off on me.
p.s. I believe you can find the Adam Carolla Show podcast on iTunes. It's a great show.

From what I've been told wit is a result of non sequiter thinking coupled with a rich and varied vocabulary. Not just big words, mind you, but different words, words that are rarely heard but quite familiar. You can't just take a list of words and say these are the words with which I will demonstrate wit. Well, maybe you can, i don't know, it may work for you. In addition referencing any kind of literature helps to scaffold what you say with pre-recognized wit. There is a reason Waugh possessed wit; he knew the works of the masters in all artistic forms. I think that you would be better served reading early 20th century literature than watching The Daily Show. I do think, however that David Letterman has a witty sense of humor if you can stomach the "wit" of his guests. Also some of the wittiest remarks are from the quietest of people. Don't mistake the quantity tongue wagging as possessing a quality of wit.

I have no recollection on how I became so witty. It just showed up one day. And now when I say something sometimes people say "you're so witty, you make me laugh", I have to stop and reflect on what I said. I think it all started with sarcasm and grew from there. Sarcasm isn't bad unless you use it in a way that hurts people, but if you use it in a way that makes people laugh, it's all good.
I practiced my sarcasm on men. Good picken's there. And my whole sense of humor and wit grew out of that. Now, it's just a part of me. G-Luck.
(PS) Did you see the look on Rudy's face? What he said was absolutely right though.

I believe so..., anyone can be witty, most are born with it and just have to get comfortable talking wittily, others need to learn control. I guess that you could also become witty. If you could then I would say: pay attention in school and once in a while try to defend yourself, at those time it just seems to come out.

Vocabulary is very important, slanting words is a great source of wit. Watch some George Carlin and other old time comedians, read classic literature, Charles Dickens is good, a lot of it is very serious, but the humor is amazing, also Alexandre Dumas. British humor is very dry can usually be found on PBS evenings or, of course, BBC. Most importantly though study people, watch what they do, and how they act/react in different situations. Exercise your brain.

Anyone can be witty and it can absolutely be learned. If you are naturally sarcastic you can use that in a fun way. Just whatever pops into your head can be funny, rude, offensive..... depends on how you use it. Lighten up your sarcasm and use it an upbeat way and you may just find people laughing instead of frowning

No offense but I've been witty since I was about 12 and it's quite simple. You just have to think of things differently and wait for something to pop up. For instance, when I was about ......... o never mind

Sorry, you are not old enough. The legal age for being witty is 18 (21 if you live in NY, NJ, or Siberia)
