Hi there, I currently live in the States and in my final year studying chemical engineering. Although I was born in Australia, I haven't been there since I was young and I now have the opportunity to study my masters in Petroleum engineering. My questions are how is studying in UNSW for my master, and how hard is it to get an engineering job. I know that United states has plenty, but I just want to experience Down Under. Thank you for your responses.....

I am especially intrested in the job market over there, and in what city to look for as far as living and working.

Thanks

well you could try looking up the mining industry on nrme.qld.gov.au or mines.com.au

there are plenty of engineering jobs around australia especially in mining industry, industrial companys, try BP australia. Why would studying over there be any different to studying over here???

look up these - careersone.com.au or jobsearch.com.au

mines are in the Queensland and Western Australia states

Australian economy especially in the resources sector is booming. The Chinese sell to America and we sell to the Chinese. we would ship more but all the ports are booming.
the big growth area is WA followed by Qld. We have had the longest growth period n our history and out perform most of the OECD. Inflation due to wage growth and capacity restriction, has been flagged as something they are looking for before they raise interest rates again. However this will not effect export industries such as yours

Head for central Queensland. With all the coal mines you will be sure to get a job. Or go to Gladstone, Queensland. It is an industrial town screaming out for qualified people.
