Consult a vet, and NEVER try to determine the proper dosage of medication yourself.

An 11 lb. dog is very small to be guessing at dosages. You need to consult your vet before even attempting this. If your dog was in the 25 or above pound range I might consider a half of a Johnson's Baby Aspirin, but with that small of a dog I would be reluctant to tell you any dosage ... except that DO NOT give your dog Ibuprofen or Tylenol .... don't EVEN try a generic brand or anything you don't know what it is ... Ibuprofen causes kidney failure in dogs and I believe Tylenol is poisonous to them also ... not sure, but don't try it. Small amounts of aspirin and Rimadyl are the only anti-inflammatories that I know are relatively safe .. BUT ONLY at the veterenarian perscribed dosage per pound ... and the smaller the dog, the more absolutely critical the dosage. Please get advisement from your vet.

It's probably just a skin allergy, you should really never give your pet medication without consulting a vet, especially with small dogs it's hard to get the dosage correct. You should call your vet and ask them to recommend something, or go to a local pet store and look for an over the counter treatment that has been proven safe. If the animal is in pain, most vets will say it's alright to give them a small dose of Baby aspirin.

As others said, I would definitely ask the vet and try to figure out why the leg is hurting.

That being said, my 11 lb puppy was spayed a few days ago and she is presently on 1/2 of a 25 mg rimadyl twice a day for five days for any pain from her surgery. She seems to be doing well.

Call your vet and ask him first. Rimydal can cause kidney/liver stress if taken in the wrong dosages/unnecessarily.

Talk with your vet. I need to go to a vet for newborn kitten problems.

Before you give him anything it sounds more like he has fleas!
