it's all about probability.. when you eat right and exercise, you are increasing your probability of living a long life.. so maybe you go from a 60% chance to an 80% chance or something.. you could still be in the unlucky 20% who dies early even though you took care of yourself.. but if you don't take care of yourself, your chances of dying early are much higher..

I can't, but who can prove it doesn't. There are more causes for cancer than diet. A marathon runner's heart is so strong, that if it does go into myocardial infarction, it is hard to get it going again. Someone with a strong heart is less likely to have a heart attack, but, I think that statistics can prove that excercise does prolong life and so does a healthy diet.

No, those unfortunate runners have died due to natural causes in the genes. Genes play a huge part in a person's chance to develop any diseases at all.
And to give any examples, my mother a couple years ago, before she used to exercise, had hip and back problems constantly, and could barely get out of the house. But ever since, she has started to swim, jog, and take daily bike rides and she is alot more active, her frequent pains have disappeared altogether, and she is alot healthier over all.

The people of Crete have longer and healthier lives then all western country and it is mainly due to eating fresh produce, olive oil, fish and exercise. It is not genetic because they fall to the same diseases and health problems as Americans if the move here and pick up out lifestyles.

There is a vast amount of data that shows that eating fatty foods causes heart disease and that smoking causes cancer.....Some people just genetically are predisposed to cancer, or tend to collect cholestrol in their hear faster than others, but it's fact that a healthy lifestyle will give us the opportunity to live as long as possible with the genes we have.

I guess that's what the unhealthy lazy ones in society would love to believe. Research has done much to show that eating healthy and exercise actually does much to lower cancer rates. There are heaps of medical journals out there, so do your research. Your leaving out one extremely important factor = GENETICS!

You're right but... the right foods and exercise most definitely improve your "quality" of life while you're alive!
