Was charged with this offence but don't really understand, since I was t-boned by a transport

If you were making a left hand turn, it means you pulled in front of the transport, and that the transport had the right of way, And that you should not have turned untill it was clear to turn.

Sounds like you turned left in front of someone. If it wasn't safe to go you should have waited since when making a turn across incoming traffic you do not have the right of way.

Check your state's driving handbook as each state has guidelines as to a "safe" left turn approach.
Apparently your left turn was not within the guidelines set forth and though you got T-boned,they are saying it was your fault.

You need to ride the bus. Quit driving and turn in your driver license.
