Why you bother about such hotchpotch now.Paganism sneaked into pure Christainity through Saint Paul when, he wanted to assert his authority over the true christains.True christains did not accept his hegemoney and preffered to hide in catacombes and other hideouts than to compromise with Saint Paul.But with the passage of time those loved Christ but not aware of his teachings accepted the paganised version of Christainity.The validity of Christ era was for five hundered years and a new religion was ordained to take over as universal religion.
