I ususally have my medium brown hair weaved with a blond to hide the grey that's popping up. I can't afford to do it right now, but my hair really needs a treatment. Can you suggest an alternative that I can do myself at home - or do you think it's safe to try something like this at a beauty college?

highlightiing your own hair is definetly something i wouldn't recommend doing yourself, and i'm sure any other professional would tell you the same thing.

a simple weave highlight is simple to do, so a beauty school is probably a good idea. i remember when i was in school we only charged $45 for the whole head. just make sure you go to a credible school (if you have a paul mitchell or toni & guy school around you, that would be the place to go).

you could also just go to your regular salon and have a partial, or crown higlight done, instead of the whole head. they section out the top part (or your crown), and just highlight that. thats really the only part where you see your grey anyway.

but again, there is no way you could do it yourself and have it look the same as when you get it done professionally. pulling it through a cap doesn't look the same as weaving, and those box highlighting kits look really streaky.

good luck!

I defintely do not suggest highlighting your own hair at home. I have seen too many people come in with those self-highlighting kits. They normally always end up in disasters. I think going to the beauty school is a a great idea. It's relatively inexpensive and the instructors are there for help. Just when you call, ask for a student who is more advanced. They will have more practice and most likely a better out come.

nicely, i might assume previously you bypass away you tell them the type you experience, which you're actually not happy, in case you're actually not happy then you definitely should not be tipping nicely. As a stylist i know i'm doing nicely by way of the top and in the event that they say they like it. i'm assuming you're being elementary and allowing them to know you're unhappy. No shopper ought to stroll away unhappy with thier hair. Stylists do in comparison to thier clientele not liking thier hair, we choose to know we are doing the pastime the type you like. I constantly tell people in the event that they are actually not happy with ANY provider then they should bypass back and characteristic em fix it and no they should not can charge you for it.
