When ever my dog walks past out VCR, he always has to put his nose inside of it. Could it be that he has OCD or something, because this happens EVERY time he walks past it!?

VCR's actually put off a faint smell when powered on. If it's an older VCR, it may even have a light whirring noise, especially when you are playing a movie. It's probably just something that interests your dog.

Dogs of all age have a really good sense of smell. So at one point, you may have touched the VCR with food, grease, other pet dander, or some one else's scent. High possibility. Try cleaning it with a non-scented cleaner if you want it to stop.

My dog does the same with the VCR. At this point, I think some of it is learned behavior because everytime she gets near it or the DVD player she gets a reaction from me... just like a little kid!! :o)

Yes I agree with everyone else. Touching it with greasy fingers or with food on your hands probably stuck to the VCR. Or maybe he just likes smelling it!!!!
Just make sure nothing can come out and bite him!

It's the chemical smell inside. I mean like everything on the film and stuff has a distinct smell to it. We prolly can't smell it but dogs have sensitive noses.

It probably has a certain smell that is intriguing to him or if you have just used it, it might be the warmth. Maybe he thinks there is a hidden treat in there.

Do you watch a lot of porno tapes? Maybe you got some sort of body fluid on it (or in it).
