The thing with plastic gearboxes is they wont last long. It is a very good gun if you want a begginers AEG just to use with a sidearm for your first gun. If you are a hard core airsofter I would go with the metal one. Over time the plastic gear box will wear down and break. If you go w/ the metal one it is higher fps, more durable, and will last u longer. My Advice! GL
