All cats want out to some degree. It's their instinct to hunt and that's an outdoor activity. If he is neutered it makes it better as he is not wanting to find a mte. Keep him plenty of stuff to do inside and give him lots of room to play and exercize. ♥

Yes.....unless you trank him all the time. Its his nature and he would want out even if he had never gone out before. Having him neutered will help a lot, and since he has been out I would (if he's been in the dirt or around other cats) I would do an advantage flea treatment. I have a fixed male who thinks he's not and I've harness trained him and take him for walks. Not too successfully I'm afraid...you have to start when they're pretty young.Sometime having somewhere they can climb (8'carpet covered 4X4) and pop into & out of (condos) helps, but the best distraction is to get him a half-grown kitten to play with.

If you're lucky, he'll be terrified of being outside and avoid wanting out for a while... but if that does happen, don't expect it to last too long. Cats are curious and tricky...
If you live somewhere where there is little-to-no traffic and your neighbors won't steal your cat, don't worry if he gets out. He'll come back when he wants food or gets spooked by something again. Just try to keep him inside and don't encourage him to go out.

If its only one time I don't think you have a problem. If it is a several time thing, you have many battles to come. Your cat should remain an indoor pet because there are so many predators outside-coyotes, dogs, other cats, some people.
It has been proven that indoor cats live much longer than outdoor cats.

Not all cats want to be outside cats. Some cats actually prefer to be inside. Once out, not a big deal. But if he continues to go out, he'll want to go out more. My cats go outside on occasion, but they don't go far and come back in when I call them or when they're ready, whichever comes first. They don't try to get out or anything, but they'll go out if I give them the opportunity.

Most likely not. Most cats that have not grown up outdoors will be scared of going outside after the first trek. Cats tend to like environments that they are used to. A cat that goes outdoors for the first time is simply seized by it's curiousity, but it most likely won't like it.

Well my cat Went out once and now he sits at the door all day..and scratches the sides..(we actually had to replace the door) So if you let your cat out you will most likely have to let your cat out all the time.

i have two cats and both have been out side once. both are terrified of it. if you do let your cat out make sure it has a collar on with your name and address and for extra reasument put your number on there too. just in case. but anyway neither of my cats like it outside and unless you let it out more than once your cat will probably not like it that much
