That's the intitial reported deaths - largely from cats as a result of the poison in the food. The toll is the long run has not been determined.

How important is the loss of your child to e coli poisoning? Not at all in the ultimate scheme of things. Cats and people are not an endanered species.

To the parents of children who die this way and the owners of the cats and dogs who also die the loss in incalcuable and an extreme tradgedy.

Very important. These cats were companions to people that loved them very much. Cats are very good companions and help make life better for some people so the loss has hurt many.

Which scheme of things? The overall perhaps? Is that how you live everyday? No... Each of us has our own "scheme of things" and its always slanted towards ourselves.
One of those 14 was most likely the only "family" that someone had left....One of those 14 was always waiting at the window for her owner to get home to play.
One of those 14 was always waiting to cuddle when bedtime came...One of those 14 always kept the mice out of the old red barn....

It makes me happy that my cat isn't affected. It reinforces my choice to feed him the best food available. It makes me feel bad for the poor cats who suffered through no fault of their own.

Look, if you are talking about the cats that died after ingesting that 'tainted' canned cat food ..that's terrible. But since you have made up your mind to be a cat-hater, and to come here and make a fool of yourself PESTERING those of us who love cats...what's it to you.

My cats are very important to my family. They are a part of our family and we would grieve for them just like any other pet owner.

If my cat had died from the food poisoning I would've been devastated! So keep your mindless idiotic opinions to yourself.
