i just started taking it today, and do not feel anything, then again i still have geodon in my system, but i was changed today to this. do you take abilify and what were your side effects?

i had no side affects but if you wan to know go to web md they they a place where you can look up your meds and find out the side affects good luck and take care

Abilify made me very hungry and also agitated (a bit manic). But it was awesome for depression!
However, I currently take Geodon with Abilify and that works out very well. No weight issues (I'm actually losing weight and I only weigh 115 lbs) and no problems with mania or depression.
I actually have a bit of a problem with constipation, but it's manageable.
Geodon 40 mg (for mania)
Abilify 10 mg (for depression)
Lamictal 100 mg (additional stabilizer)
I was told Geodon and Abilify do the same thing-- but in my experience they affect me completely differently.

I've been on Abilify for a while now and I've never noticed any side effects. I took it to replace Geodon, too, because Geodon made me constantly nauseous.

Hopefully your prescriber titrated you milligrams slowly and is watching for dangerous side effects that affect your nervous system (twitching, burning). Actually, this class of med has the least weight gain reported, only a few percent had reported that. But because our bodies are so different, each person has to monitor their own side effects. You can always call your pharmacist if you begin to feel something different (blurry vision is always a bad side effect) and usually you want to follow up with a call to the doctor the next day if it is nothing serious.

Sweaty palms,
Increased appetite and excessive weight gain in the short time of 2 months I gained 2 dress sizes.
Headaches and grogginess.
I no longer take it.

I'm on it and I have an eating disorder. There is no way I would take it if it caused me weight gain. I personally have no side effects.

i was on it for afew months i had only 1side effect my right hand started shaking uncontrollably it just worse so i stoped and was put on another med. good luck
