If you're using Windows, a free program provided with it is called "Windows Movie Maker". If you have this installed then here are the steps:

1)Open Windows Movie Maker
2) In the task bar (The bar on the left with all the "links"), click Import video
3) Go to the location of the video you want to cut in half
4) On the bottom of the window, select "Show Timeline"
5) Click the video on the timeline
6)Go to the point, with the blue bar selector, that you want to cut the video.
7)Underneath the video preview box, on the right hand side, there is a little icon that looks like a filmstrip with a line down the middle. Click that and it will cut it right where the selector is on the file.
8) Delete the side of the video clip you do not want.
9) Go to File>Save Movie File
10) Follow the step by step directions to save the file to your computer.
11) The video file will be cut in half and ready to use!

This is pretty detailed, so if you have any problems feel free to contact me and I would be glad to help.

Hope I can answer your question! Feel free to contact me with your solution or any other problems/details at any time, either on Yahoo! Messenger or by email.

Bandicut is a great video cutter! It doesn't re-encode the files, so it's very fast and no quality is lost!
