Nurses are very underpaid considering the amt of schooling, the licensing , & the responsibility. If it was such good money, there wouldn't be such a huge shortage of nurses. If you have ever been in a hospital then you know that for 23hrs & 55 min the nurse is responsible for keeping you alive & then for the 5 min that your doctor visits, she/he makes sure that he has all the info that the MD needs to write the orders for the patient that the nurse will carry out. This is only one type of nursing. Those of us that do the job, do not do it for the money.

nurses make good money, and the overtime is ALWAYS available,,,,,,, The pay scale ranges, and depends on the type of nursing you do Geriatrics, surgical, ob,trauma, flight nurse.....the more schooling, the higher the skill level, the more responsibility, the higher the pay....it is a good field if you have the heart (and stomach) for it

Given what they are responsible for, nurses are horribly underpaid...most of the good ones do what they do for some reason other than the financial rewards.

They are responsible for carrying out Md orders make sure the paitent recieves the necessary services needed. They are also responsible for medication admintration, determing a persons medical needs, assessing, the list goes on and on

They are responsible in taking the sick people. They help the doctors to cure the sick or to comfort sick people sometimes they save lives because they cure sick that can kill people.
