its seems like it just because he said "because youre a girl" and is implying that girls are the weaker sex that can't handle their own in a man-based sport. Tell you father that you want to wrestle, its your passion, and you aren't going to let your gender stop you from donig anything. We have equal rights and equal opportunities as men.

Maybe you're dad is just being over protective. Some sports can be pretty brutal for girls. Maybe you should try a sport that is also very demanding like soccer or basketball? There are also things like Tae-kwon-do(sp?) that can show that you really can kick butt. Just keep at it and show him that girls can be just as strong as boys.

He may be but i doubt it. Even though you know your strong enough to do those things your dad may think that your not and dont want to see you get hurt.So just do wrestling whether he likes it or not and prove to him that you wont get hurt. but if theres still a problem...then yeah he might be sexist

The fact that your Dad lets your brother play certain sports and won’t allow you to play them doesn’t mean that he thinks your brother is ‘better’, just that he thinks you and your bother are different. That’s does not equate to being sexist.
And to add my personal opinion…males and females--while being equal (meaning one is not better than the other)--ARE different. They’re built differently, they think differently, they communicate differently, and so on and so forth.

I don't think that he is sexist. More than likely, your father grew in a society that had specific gender role that were expected from each sex and it could possibly intimidate him that now women can do any and everything he can do, and perhaps do it better, smarter and faster

yes, that does sound sexist. Maybe he wants to still think of you as Daddy's Little Girl. Let him know you will always be his little girl but how much you would like to do the same things as your brother. Give him real reasons why they are important to you.

After few years of training.. one day my dad came to fetch me back from class wen he saw my opposite trainer holding my neck with his arm and kicking me.. Tats it.. its was my last day at lesson.. My dad didn't even mind.. abt the $500 he paid for my lesson as deposit..

Do you just want your Dad's attention? If so, start dating. Or ask him to take you fishing, that's a fun thing to do you can all three do. If your brother is gay the whole scenario may change.

He may be right. Does your school have a girls wrestling team? You might have better luck studying something like martial arts or boxing.
