I've had part of my intestine removed, and have made peace with no nuts, seeds, etc. but having intense cravings for popcorn. It can be microwave, stovetop, or stick in the fire.

There is really no such thing as a truly hulless popcorn. All popcorn has a hull, which is what holds the popcorn together. When a kernel of popcorn explodes, it sort of turns inside out. If you look at the darker inside of the popped popcorn you will see where the hull went.
Hulless variety popcorn is a smaller kernel popcorn that generally has a more tender hull. When it pops, the hull breaks up into smaller pieces and does not get noticed by getting into your teeth. Hulless popcorn also has the reputation of being digested easier.
Diverticulitis is a common problem for people over 60 years old. It is caused by a small bulging pouch in your stomach, small or large intestine. Most of the time these pouches cause little or no pain.
Sometimes they can become inflamed or infected causing terrible pain, fever, nausea and a change in bowel habits. This is called Diverticuites. Mild cases can be treated with rest, antibiotics and diet changes.
People with diverticulitis should not eat popcorn with hulls. This could cause the diverticulites to flare up.
If you are affected by Diverticulites hulless popcorns are recommended. Ladyfinger Popcorn and Rainbow Ladyfinger are hulless. People with Diverticulites have had the best results with Ladyfinger Popcorn.
Remember no popcorn is 100% hulless. But these are virtually hulless and great for those that need hulless popcorn.
