It is all common sense:
-Put your child's needs before your own--always.
-Lead by example; treat the child the way you would like to be treated, show respect toward him/her and others, lead a moral life, and be a decent role model.
-Keep your child out of harm's way--always--no matter what.
-Provide for your child's physical and emotional needs.
-Stability--try to maintain this as much as possible for your child's sake.
-If ever you have trouble fulfilling any of the above requirements--find a way to get help--immediately. Don't make any excuses or wait until the situation becomes unmanagable.
...most importantly..begin and end everyday with "I LOVE YOU".

Responsible parenting is providing your children with the basics like food, clothing and shelter. It means loving your child more than your own life. It means educating your child...not just academics but teaching your child things like compassion, empathy, honesty, tolerance and morals. Responsible parenting means doing everything within your power to make sure your children become good people.

Responsible parenting consists of so many things. Obviously letting your kids jump off of a building is not responsible. But making them dinner every night, making sure they have enough protein and calcium, making sure they are clean, making sure they are healthy, making sure they are happy, giving them boundaries so they don't get to out of line, teaching them right from wrong, teaching them manners, helping with their homework, letting them know they can always come to you with a problem and the most important one is just providing them with love. There is no exact answers to being a responsible parent.

Whew too long to list. Its 24 hours 7 days a week. It never ends. Its thinking about no and yesterday and the future. Its teaching your children to be moral and happy but with loving discipline. Each child is differnt you ahve to figure out what works and when you do they change. Well I could go on forever. YOu know you are doing respobnsible parenting when you are tired, struggle with not giving in and still amange to have a great day loving them.
